Ring dem bells!

Ring dem bells!

A student brought this news story to my attention.  What is it with these "non-sectarian" established churches that they find orthodox Christianity to be so problematic when it comes to getting people interested in -- ahem -- orthodox Christianity?  First Imams and now Lennon -- what next, I wonder?  Or is there a `next'?  When Islam and `Imagine' are seen as Christianity's last best hopes, I can't help but cast my mind back a few centuries to a previous Anglican minister's reflection on bellringing.  Was he perchance writing prophetically about his own "non-sectarian" church: Ask not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
