PCRT Grand Rapids
Why
should you come to PCRT Grand Rapids? The doctrine of adoption is a truth that
many Christians overlook. After all, what could be more astonishing – more
unbelievable – than the great fact that the doctrine of adoption teaches: a
holy God adopt a rebel sinner like us as His beloved children. It makes any Disney fairy tale sound humdrum
by comparison. We might pray for Him to tolerate us, to look the other way when
we sin, but we wouldn’t dream of asking Him to stoop to love us as His own
children. So here, as so often, we see
our sinful flesh conflict with the glorious truths of God’s Word. The apostle John, like us, stands amazed at
the truth of adoption, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that
we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”
We have
the opportunity to worship our heavenly Father and delve deeply into the rich
truths of the doctrine of adoption this Friday through Sunday at the
Philadelphia Conference of Reformed Theology held in Byron Center,
Michigan. Here is a short list of the
ways those attend will be blessed:
–Six
Biblically robust addresses from four gifted preachers/teachers: Derek Thomas,
Steven Lawson, Joel Beeke, and Richard Phillips. You will be able to fill a legal pad full of
truths on the doctrine of adoption to ponder and enjoy for years to come.
–A
pre-conference with three of the speakers applying the truth of our heavenly
Father’s love to the role of men as earthly fathers. This time before the conference will be a
breath of fresh air in the smog of our culture which caricatures courageous
husbands and fathers.
–Your
choice of three difference seminars in which to more closely learn from and
interact with the teachers.
–An
opportunity for questions and answers with the speakers regarding adoption
–Opportunities,
with the accompaniment of the Westminster
brass, to sing praises to our heavenly Father, our saving and perfect brother
Jesus, and the Spirit who applies these truths to us.
–A large
selection of insightful Reformed books and resources to peruse and purchase
–Fellowship
and encouragement with Reformed brothers and sisters – and conference speakers!
In other words, this is an event you will not want to
miss!
