New titles from Scottish academics
I wanted to draw attention to two recent publications from Scottish academics: I. Howard Marshall's A Concise New Testament Theology (IVP) is an abridgement of his recent New Testament Theology, and is a very accessible survey of the issues and themes in the theology of each of the New Testament books. The concluding chapter on 'Diversity and Unity in the New Testament' is an excellent summary essay on the thematic unity and authorial diversity of the New Testament.
John L. Mackay of the Free Church College has added to his published commentaries in the much-anticipated first volume commentary on Isaiah (Evangelical Press). Professor Mackay has already published major commentaries on Exodus, Jeremiah and Lamentations, as well as smaller volumes on some of the minor prophets. This new commentary will not disappoint.
