As I enter this blog and finally smash the oppressive male monopoly that has dominated it from the start (and that means you too -- Nichols and Lucas. Big Sister is particularly watching you two tried-and-tested oppressors....) I notice that the chauvinist running dogs of patriarchal Mohleric Duncanite-Manhaneyist Deverationism are puffing that most androcentric of disciplines, systematic theology, at least according to Christianity Today: http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2008/aprilweb-only/116-52.0.html
Come on , boys, time to get in touch with your feminine sides. Systems are a passe sign of male repression of the Other. And Dever -- put down that briefcase, forget `the festival of ties,' pick up your apron, and do some ironing!!!
And, while I applaud the recent book of Mr McGowan on inerrancy, helping to counterbalance the overwhelming number of books recently published by Eerdmans, Baker and co. defending the doctrine as a vital part of a coherent account of the Christian faith, might I point out to readers that he studiedly avoids the most significant argument against the doctrine: Dr Val Kyrie, the female empowerment co-ordinator at my Sunday morning Creative Writing Seminar, has recently proved that the word inerrancy actually comes from the Latin inerrantio, meaning `brutal male oppression of women.' That Mr McGowan somehow "forgot" to mention this in his book is just one more example of the way in which the whole of confessional Reformed theology is really just one big plot to put God in a box and exploit persons of alternative..... (and so on for 97 pages)
