An Apology
October 4, 2011
I must apologise. As has been pointed out to me by Phil Johnson over at Pyromaniacs and a number of transatlantic correspondents, the Theology-Trinity-Church-trumping "yob aesthetic" that is proving so powerful as a "reformed" "gospel-centred" and "confessional" force over here is actually playing very well in other parts of the world, including the UK.
All I can plead is that, when I left England a decade ago, this yob aesthetic was confined to magazines with titles like Loaded and Nuts. It never crossed my mind then that this was the wave of the future for the church.
So I do apologise for singling the US out on that score.
