A Point for Prayer
October 3, 2011
Please pray for the pastors and congregation of High Hilton Church in Aberdeen. The press release they have issued provides all the information.
Two things come to mind:
Belgic Confession 27 contains the following words: "This church has existed from the beginning of the world and will last until the end, as appears from the fact that Christ is eternal King who cannot be without subjects. And this holy church is preserved by God against the rage of the whole world, even though for a time it may appear very small in the eyes of men-- as though it were snuffed out.
Heb. 11: 24-27: "By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith, he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible."
We must pray for Peter Dickson, David Gibson and others, confident in the knowledge that the LORD will honour those who seek to honour him.
