Golden Compass author calls Jesus Christ a “scoundrel”
Philip Pullman, author of the highly acclaimed His Dark Materials trilogy has now authored an anti-Christ screed. It seems he likes “the historical Jesus” just fine. It’s “the Christ of faith” that has him so bummed. Of course there is nothing new here. Liberal, so-called “Christian” scholars have been saying basically the same thing for a hundred years. It’s also been the theme of such schlocky novels as The DaVinci Code.
