Two news items

First, as reported to me by Scott Clark, Dame Helen Mirren has made an appeal to Hollywood to stop portraying the British as evil villains here.  Sorry, Helen, some of us British types wear that as a badge of honour; we are evil, so let them show us for what we are; let them call it as they see it, Dame. 

Second, atheist hack, Johann Hari, has pointed to the fact that heaven is a pretty unacceptable thing to believe in by modern standards of what is and is not true.  In fact, it's positively distasteful.   You can find his piece here.  So I issue a plea to Ref21 readers: let's drop all this pie-in-the-sky-when-you-die nonsense; if we don't, we'll start to look like a cult.
