Happy Independence Day, to our readers from the U.S. For those of you from the rest of the world, July 4 is the day on which we citizens of the U.S.A. celebrate the founding of our nation. It is the day on which the Declaration of Independence was signed.
The Reformed influence on this whole event was significant. Back home in Britain, one member of Parliament even complained that "America has run off with a Presbyterian parson" while others styled the Patriot cause "the Presbyterian rebellion."
