The Excitement of a New Church in Charleston, SC

Rick Phillips
In 1731, Reformed believers who had been part of the Independent Church in Charleston, SC decided to establish First (Scots) Presbyterian Church on Meeting Street.  This coming Sunday, June 9, a group of Reformed believers are returning to First Scots with the same fervor for the glory of God, the doctrines of grace, biblical worship, and gospel zeal.  This gathering, at 6:00 pm will mark the first formal worship service of Christ Church Presbyterian, led by its pastor, Dr. Jon Payne.  After our morning services in Greenville, SC, my wife and I, together with friends from Second Presbyterian Church will be driving down to participate in this long-awaited service.  If you live near Charleston or nearby in the Low Country of South Carolina, you should join us.  If you are interested in information, or if you just want to be encouraged about a church plant committed to sound doctrine, biblical worship, and warm piety, you might look at the church's new facebook page.  Please join us in prayer for this new church and, if possible, please join us for the worship service.
