Leithart on Griffiths

Mark McDowell
It's been the design of Reformation 21, of late, to deal with the best books by some of the keenest minds. By trying to stay at the forefront - and, therefore, to bring to our readers books that will set the pace, theologically - we're hoping that we can continue to foster a forum where leading ideas can be treated and presented for the support and help of the church both near and far.

There are few people who could engage the somewhat complex and sophisticated work of Paul Griffiths, Decreation: The Last Things of All Creatures, with the kind of care, precision and insight that such an important book requires. We are grateful that one of those "few" has taken the time to review it here, and we trust that the review will help our readership sharpen their own positions on the matters discussed herein.

Peter is ordained in the CREC and is a theologian who serves at the Theopolis Institute, and while he has attracted a fair share of controversy, we are pleased to print his review because, no matter where one stands on the specific controversies surrounding him, one stands to learn and be challenged by his provocative insights and approaches to theology, Scripture, and the church.
