Derek is a grandfather! Congratulations Derek. All the best to Ellen, David, Rosemary, Owen and little Hannah. We miss you in Mississippi, but are rejoicing at your time together in Ulster.
Now, for the news advertised in the title. Wayne Grudem has been busy of late, and you should be on the lookout for the release of three very important volumes relating to biblical teaching on gender and roles in the home and church.

(1) Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (Wheaton: Crossway, 1991/2006; 566 pages), which John Piper and Wayne edited, contains 26 essays by 22 different authors who were experts in various fields such as Old Testament, New Testament, theology, history, sociology, psychology, biology, law, and pastoral ministry. It remains the classic statement of the complementarian position and was named “Book of the Year” in 1992 by Christianity Today (based on a poll of readers). It continues to be widely read and is just about to be released in an updated edition with a new preface (due any day now, August 2006).
