Dr Letham, Union with Christ and unoriginal book titles

Paul Levy

I'm really looking forward to Robert Letham's 'Union with Christ'. It's not reached the UK yet. On a popular level there's so little written on this subject, despite the furore surrounding it over the last few years. Reading Bob Letham is always refreshing; it's like taking a good, hot bath. To mix metaphors, he blows away the cobwebs. It makes one feel confident in the confessions. I love his churchmanship and the lack of flamboyance.

Dr Letham will be speaking to West London ministers and church staff on Wed 18 Jan 1pm at Duke Street Church, Richmond. He will speak and lead a discussion on ''Union with Christ and the pastoral ministry''. If you're in London come along. It'll be worth hearing him.

Having said I really enjoy Bob Letham's books and his lack of flamboyance, one thing I've noticed is that nearly all of his titles have the most unoriginal titles

The Work of Christ

The Lord's Supper

The Westminster Assembly

The Holy Trinity

and now Union  with Christ

All of them do exactly what they say on the tin and admittedly 'Through Eastern Eyes' is decent enough, but come on Dr Letham pull your finger out on the titles.
