Okay, one more book and this time in rhyme
Paul Tripp He Be Trippin’
(sung to the tune of Paul Tripp He Be Trippin’–give it time, it’ll catch on)
Paul Tripp, that’s right, he be trippin’,
scribblin’ off a book like a jazz musician.
King David rapped a Hebrew rhyme, call it #51,
’bout all that sinnin’ and confessin’ he done.
“Create in me a Clean heart”
King David he be prayin’,
Keith Green played his part,
Now P D Tripp he 2 be sayin’.
All them bad emotions, all them bad desires,
King D let them burn him up like wildfires.
Now he be repentin’, pleadin’ his case,
Oh, Lord, my Lord, don’t hide your face.
Now don’t you be thinkin’ you better than David the king,
Read PT, that counselor-man, he’ll catch you in his sting.
So get on your knees, cry out for mercy and salvation,
to that One true David, he be the King of all nation.
Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness in his blood,
Come all you sinners, wash in Immanuel’s flood.
Oh that, P D Tripp, he be pointin’ the direction,
offerin’ his wisdom for our soul’s correction.
Read his book, he knows what he’s talkin’ ’bout,
So thanks everybody, that’s my shout out.
And, yes, I’m keeping my day job.
